GroupSignal vs Groups Monitor

Groups Monitor, at groups-monitor.com, is a managed service: its own Facebook account joins the groups, and AI reads their posts against prompts you write. GroupSignal is a Chrome extension that reads the groups you've joined through your own account. Both match posts by intent rather than keywords alone.

Getting into private groups

For a private group, Groups Monitor's account asks to join, and monitoring starts once an admin approves. It refunds a private group it can't get into. GroupSignal reads private groups you're already a member of from the start, because it uses your own account, so there's no join request to wait on. It needs Chrome open on a computer, and nothing is checked while Chrome is closed.

How they find posts

Groups Monitor uses plain-language AI prompts set per group. GroupSignal uses monitors: two sentences saying who and what to find, and what to ignore, each applied to the groups you choose. AI reads every new post against them, by meaning and in any language (writing a monitor).

Where you see matches

Groups Monitor sends alerts to a dashboard, email, Slack and webhooks, and its webhooks can carry every post it collects. GroupSignal keeps matches in your inbox at sosaly.com, on any device, with the reason each post matched, raises a browser alert, and can send matches to Zapier or Make. Posts that don't match are discarded.

What they cost

Groups Monitor Professional is $89/month for up to 10 groups, and $389/month covers up to 50, with no free trial and a full refund of the first Professional charge within 7 days. GroupSignal is $10/month for five group slots and $2/month for each extra slot, up to 25, so 10 groups in one monitor cost $20/month. It has a 7-day free trial, no card required.

Which to choose

  • Groups Monitor if your own Facebook account shouldn't be involved, your groups must be watched while no computer of yours is on, you watch more than 25 groups, or you want every collected post sent on.
  • GroupSignal if you want the groups you've already joined watched through your own account, with no join request to wait on, and a lower price.
